BOULDER, CO, March 1, 2023 -- Picture Climate Justice is a global initiative created by United Nations Human Rights supported Photography 4 Humanity and Right Here, Right Now Global Climate Alliance, to empower people around the world at a grassroots level to capture images of people and the planet being impacted by climate change - then instantly upload them to a platform where they will be on display for the world to see.
By encouraging and empowering everyone around the world to take pictures of climate justice issues with their phones, 365 days a year, Picture Climate Justice seeks to engage and empower people to document what is actually taking place on the ground in local communities around the world. Through a crowd sourced photo platform that displays images on Instagram, Picture Climate Justice provides a public forum for people to capture and post images that convey that climate change is a human rights crisis, to help democratize and humanize the issue so everyone will have the ability to be seen and heard.
By highlighting compelling imagery - illustrating courage, despair, hope, injustice, and compassion, in ways small and large, Picture Climate Justice encourages the public to personally get involved and to take a stand for climate justice.
“The average person feels hopeless when it comes to climate change, as they don’t feel their voices are heard over those of the special interests that seek to continue the status quo.” Said David Clark, Founder and CEO of the Right Here, Right Now Global Climate Alliance. “With Picture Climate Justice, we provide a voice to those who all too often have none. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then the average person now has the ability to add their voice to the global dialogue through their lens.”
