Description : Those who lost their lives to the Coronavirus were not allowed to have a final goodbye from their loved ones, and were buried by contracted municipal workers.

Congratulations to Anindito Mukherjee who has been named the 2020 Photography 4 Humanity Global Prize Recipient! Mukherjee’s photo “The Last Rites” captures both the human and systemic costs of COVID-19 in Delhi and will be exhibited, along with the work of the Top 10 Finalists, at Fotografiska New York from December 10, 2020 – January 24, 2021. Following the month-long installation, the images will move on to be showcased globally via a virtual exhibit by the United Nations.

The work of the 2020 Photography 4 Humanity Global Prize Recipient and Top 10 Finalists will be exhibited at Fotografiska New York from December 10, 2020 – January 24, 2021.
The Fotografiska New York installation was opened with a global livestream event in recognition of UN Human Rights Day on December 10th.
